The City of Tybee is planning to complete a project this winter to renourish sand dunes that have significantly eroded on the north end of the island, along the Savannah River Shipping Channel.

A City-hired engineering consultant has developed designs for the project, which does impact private property, and has submitted plans for permitting. Over the next few months, the City will work with impacted private property owners on agreements to allow the dune work to move forward.

The City will provide an overview of these plans and the process moving forward at a public meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10, in Council Chambers at the Public Safety Building, 78 Van Horn Ave.
